Getting to Know Mrs. Dennett

 Hello Kindergarteners!

My name is Jena Dennett and I am excited to be your Kindergarten teacher this year!

This is my fourteenth year teaching Kindergarten and my sixteenth year teaching at Reed.  I taught preschool before coming to Reed. I have my Master's Degree in Education and Innovation and received my Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.

I can't wait to learn all about you!  Here's a few fun things you should know about me...

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Dan, and our daughters, Elodie and Cadence.  We like to go on adventures together and spend a lot of time playing and exploring new places. Elodie is a fifth grader at FGC and Cadence is a big first grader!  We have two dogs at home named Mabel and Maverick (you will hear lots of funny stories about them) and we love playing in the backyard with them.

My hobbies are watching STL City SC and the Cardinals play, eating at fun restaurants, and going to concerts.  I played soccer through college and love supporting our teams!

I like reading books written by my favorite authors, Eric Carle and Mo Willems.  I also like Shel Silverstein's, The Giving Tree, and Stick and Stone by Beth Ferry and Tom Lichtenheld.  We read many books in Kindergarten and explore a few authors during our author study units.

We are going to have a fun year in Kindergarten together!  I am excited to get to know you and spend our year learning, playing, and growing together!
