This week we learned about the life cycle of a frog. Here are some of the other important things we learned...
Our centers this week included sequencing the life cycle of a frog, finding, reading and writing words with silent e and long vowels, writing words with blends, playing various learning games, and writing what we've learned about frogs.
We continued to work on words with long vowels with a silent e during Phonics. We also learned about using the letter "y" for the long "i" sound.
During Reading, we spent time with shared reading books, focusing on various skills. Please continue reading with your child at home.
We kept up our work on numbers to 100 during Math and started to revisit addition and subtraction.
In Science, we continued to learn about the temperature and the weather. This will be our focus for the remainder of our year.
We worked on making our writing more persuasive and convincing during Writing. We talked about adding more details to make our opinions better to read. Please keep writing with your child at home.
